Day 4 - Return to God Through Prayer

Therefore tell the people: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Return to me,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the Lord Almighty. Zechariah 1:3

God had started a revival in His people. The Israelites returned from Babylon out of captivity to rebuild the temple and Zechariah was used by God to keep a revival going. He called the people to repentance and reassuring them of their future blessing. Zechariah sought to encourage the people to build the temple in faith of the promise that the Messiah would come and inhabit it. Therefore, the people were not just building for the present, but with the future hope in mind!

Sometimes in Scripture we see that God requires an action from His people before God moves. Often times we want God to go first, because if God goes first then it doesn’t require any faith from us.

Today think about your prayer. Are you declaring the will of God? Not just for others but for you? Maybe God will not start a revival in His people until there is a revival started in you!

Pray—Confess your prayerlessness to God and tell Him that you are ready to return. Pray for revival, not in the community, but in your life. Invite God to rebuild His temple in your life that He may dwell there and a revival would begin!
