“For
the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being
saved it is the power of God. 1 For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom
of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.” I
Corinthians 1:18-19
No
one wants to be called foolish or ignorant. So, in order to be looked at by
others as “intelligent” we will try and educate ourselves with books, blogs,
Google, news, radio, TV, and other things. As we acquire information we need to
be careful to discern the source. Mankind can give us some knowledge and even
wisdom in certain areas of life. However, we must not forget the Creator of all
things (Christ) Colossians 1:15-17,
“He
is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him
all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether
thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.
And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

The world often times considers Christians “foolish” for believing and trusting
in Christ for all things.
•
This world often times tells us that in order to be free and wise we must separate
ourselves from Christianity.
• As
Christians we must seek wisdom by returning to prayer and Bible study. For that
is where we find answers to life’s questions.
Pray—Lord in a day where information is so
available and everyone seems to have an opinion on what true wisdom is, help me
to remember that the answers to life’s questions: “Who am I?, What is my purpose?, What happens to me when I die?,”
come from You.Amen.
