Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request. I Chronicles 4:10
As we follow the lead of Jabez in his prayer God will also enlarge our territory. Jabez’s prayer to enlarge his territory was not a selfish prayer so that he could just become a very wealthy man. He wanted to enlarge his territory to show how big God is. God granted the
request as a result of how Jabez brought the petition before Him. Jabez asked in humility and sincerity for God’s blessing, to help him in his work, to be with him in all he did and to keep him from evil and harm. God wants to answer your request. The key to answered prayer is your motive. God will enlarge your territory spiritually, and physically as long as your motive is pure, as long as you are driven by a sincere desire to experience and expose His glory.
Pray—Father, oh that You would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let Your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.
